Red-Shirt Senior (2017): Named an honorable mention to the All-PAC Team and to the All-UAA First Team… Started all 12 games as a fifth-year senior outside linebacker and served as a team captain… Finished the year with 45 total tackles and 32 solo… Was fourth on the team with 9.5 tackles for a loss, including one sack… Also forced and recovered one fumble during the year… Was named both the PAC and the UAA Special Team Player of the Week, after blocking a punt against Carnegie Mellon in the final minute of the team’s season finale, which allowed the team to come-from-behind for an overtime victory… The play was later selected as the D3football.com Play of the Week… Had 12 tackles, including 10 solo and one for a loss, during the team’s NCAA Playoff game against Mount Union… Forced and recovered a fumble against Geneva on October 21… Had five tackles, including three for a loss and a sack, in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs against Illinois Wesleyan… Finished his career with 117 total tackles, 23 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks and five forced fumbles… Selected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society… Earned UAA Fall All-Academic recognition.
Senior (2016): Started the first two games of the season for the Spartans, before missing the remainder of the year due to injury… Finished the year with 12 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks… Had four tackles and two sacks in the first quarter against Grove City… Received UAA All-Academic honors.
Junior (2015): Played in 10 games, including seven in a starting role, during his junior season… finished the year with 27 tackles, including five for a loss and three sacks… forced a pair of fumbles and notched four quarterback hurries… had a season-high eight tackles, including a sack and a forced fumble, during the team’s season-finale against Carnegie Mellon on November 14th… added six tackles, including one for a loss, and hurried the quarterback twice against Chicago on September 5th... earned UAA All-Academic honors and was named to the PAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Sophomore (2014): Saw action in all 10 games during the season, including four in a starting role at linebacker…received UAA All-Academic recognition…recorded 27 tackles (14 solo) in 2014 and was second on the team with three sacks…led all CWRU players with two forced fumbles…notched a season-best five tackles, including a sack, against Saint Vincent on September 20…had three tackles, a sack and a forced fumble against Chicago on November 15.
Freshman (2013): Played in six games as a freshman with time at linebacker and on special teams…posted six tackles (five solo).
Personal: Earned three varsity letters at North Allegheny High School…named All-Pennsylvania at tight end in 2012 as well as second-team all-conference…four-year scholar-athlete…son of Terry and Heidi Lyon.
