Played for the West Carter High School football team for four seasons, serving as a captain during his junior and senior years… Was a two-time all-area and all-Eastern Kentucky Conference honoree… Ranked third all-time in his school’s history in career tackles for loss… Was his high school’s salutatorian… Also played baseball, basketball, and wrestled in high school.
