Biography

Senior (2022): Named the All-PAC First Team quarterback for the fourth time in his career… Became the first CWRU player ever to receive All-PAC First Team recognition four times over a career and one of just four players in team history to be named to any All-PAC team four times… Set program records for career passing touchdowns (96), yards (10,844), completions (868), and attempts (1,393)… Finished his career second among active Division III players in touchdowns thrown, completions, and passing yards… Ranked 30th in Division III history with 291.1 passing yards per game… Led all PAC players in 2022 with a 67.0% completion percentage (21st in DIII), 17.11 completions per game (72nd in DIII), and 201.8 passing yards per game (81st in DIII), and was second in the league with a 148.5 passing efficiency (51st in DIII), 199.4 yards of total offense (102nd in DIII), and 7.9 yards per attempt (58th in DIII)… Completed 154-of-230 passes for 1,816 yards with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions… Ran for three touchdowns during the season… Started all nine games he played in… Named the PAC Offensive Player of the Week on September 19 after completing 22-of-32 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Washington & Jefferson… Earned the honor for the second time during the season and the sixth time over his career after completing 19-of-35 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns against Allegheny on October 29… Also threw for four touchdowns against Bethany, completing 16-of-20 passes for 212 yards on October 22… Ran for a career-high three touchdowns against Waynesburg on September 10… Also named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.

Senior (2021): Named to the All-PAC First Team for the third time in his career… Started all 10 games for the Spartans, and has started 31 straight games dating back to the beginning of the 2018 season… Completed 61.3% of his passes for 3,029 yards and 23 touchdowns with 16 interceptions… Led all PAC players in completions per game (25.0 – 11th in Division III), passing touchdowns (44th in DIII), passing yards (17th in DIII), and passing yards per game (302.9 – 13th in DIII), while ranking second in the league in completion percentage (53rd in DIII)… Recorded the third-most yards and seventh-most touchdowns in program history… Now owns two of the four seasons of 3,000 or more passing yards in program history, and has three of the top-five single-season passing yard totals by a Spartan quarterback… Added 31 rushing yards and a touchdown… Named the PAC and UAA Offensive Player of the Week on September 13, after completing 23-of-34 passes for career-bests with 433 yards and five touchdowns, including a season-long 80-yard touchdown pass… Later in the season, surpassed his career-high in yardage again with a 462-yard effort against Saint Vincent, the second-most in a game in program history… Completed 32-of-48 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns while adding a rushing score, against Geneva on October 23… In the game, led the team on a game-winning 91-yard drive in 46 seconds, and connected with Lucas DeCaro on a game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds remaining… Ended his senior year second in program history with 9,028 career passing yards (696 away from the record) and 83 passing touchdowns (four away from the record).

Junior (2020): Team did not play during the 2020-21 academic year due to the pandemic.

Sophomore (2019): Selected as the All-PAC First Team quarterback for the second-straight season… Started all 11 games for the Spartans, completing 60.5% of his passes for 2,966 yards and 26 touchdowns with 14 interceptions… Recorded the fourth-most passing yards and sixth-most touchdowns in a single season in program history… Led all PAC players in passing touchdowns (26th in DIII), passing yards (18th in DIII), and completions per game (21st in DIII)… Also ran for three touchdowns during the campaign… Threw for a career-best 420 yards (the fourth-most in a single game in program history) against Saint Vincent on October 19, while tallying four touchdowns and completing 30-of-51 passes… Also caught a pass for 19 yards in the game… Earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors following the effort… Was named both the PAC and UAA Offensive Player of the Week after completing 21-of-29 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in a win over Washington & Jefferson on October 12… Had three games of 300 or more passing yards, and six games of three or more passing touchdowns… Accounted for at least one touchdown in each of CWRU’s 11 games during the year… Ended his sophomore season ranked fourth in program history in career passing yards (5,999), third in QB efficiency (148.4), and third in passing touchdowns (60).

Freshman (2018): Selected as the quarterback on the D3football.com All-South Region Third Team, and was one of just 12 freshmen across the country to earn all-region honors, and the only one on the offensive side of the ball… Joined Dan Whalen (2007 third team) and Rob Cuda (2015 and 2017 third team) as the only Spartans quarterbacks to receive all-region honors… Became the first player in UAA history to be named both the Offensive Player of the Year and the Rookie of the Year… Was the first CWRU player ever to be named the PAC Newcomer of the Year, and was selected to both the PAC and UAA First Teams… Recorded one of the best statistical seasons ever by a Spartan quarterback, matching a school record with 34 touchdowns, while throwing for 3,033 yards, the third-most in school history… Finished the year with a 161.01 efficiency (third in school history), while completing 62.4% of his passes and throwing just nine interceptions… Ranked fifth in DIII in passing touchdowns, sixth in passing yards per game (303.3), 10th in total offense (315.3), 11th in passing yards, 15th in points responsible for per game (21.2), 17th in efficiency and completions per game (22.1), 22nd in yards per pass attempt (8.57) and 33rd in completion percentage… Led the PAC in each of the statistical categories as well… Named the PAC Athlete of the Week twice, and the PAC Rookie of the Week on four occasions…. Also garnered UAA Athlete of the Week honors four times during the 2018 season… Threw for three or more touchdowns in a game seven times, including four five-touchdown games… Had six efforts of 300 or more passing yards… Threw for 414 yards and five touchdowns during a loss to Washington & Jefferson on October 6, the fourth-highest single-game yardage total in program history and the second-highest ever by a freshman quarterback… Also had five-touchdown games against Grove City on September 15, Thiel on September 22, and Waynesburg on November 3… After one season, ranks 10th in school history in career passing yards, first in career efficiency, and sixth in career passing touchdowns.

Personal: Was a four-year member of the South Fayette High School football team, serving as a team captain during his senior year... Coached by Joe Rossi... The Northwest Nine Offensive Player of the Year and an all-state and all-conference first-team selection his senior year... Sixth in WPIAL history in passing yards (7.452) and second in touchdowns (94)... A member of the honor roll... Also played basketball in high school... Born August 4... Son of Stew and Charmian.
