Senior (2017): Selected to the All-PAC Second Team and the All-UAA First Team… Served as a team captain and started all 12 games for the Spartans during the 2017 season… Finished the year second on the team with 73 total tackles and 40 unassisted tackles… Added 4.5 tackles for a loss, an interception, and three pass breakups, while forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble… Also returned 26 kicks during the year for 21.8 yards per return… Recorded a season-high 10 tackles, including one for a loss, while forcing a fumble and picking off a pass against Washington on October 28, earning UAA Defensive Player of the Week honors… Selected as the UAA Special Teams Player of the Week on September 5th after returning three kicks for 92 yards, including a season-long 39 yard return, against Chicago… Recorded six tackles and blocked a kick during the team’s first round NCAA Playoff win over Illinois Wesleyan, earning UAA Athlete of the Week honors again… Finished his career at CWRU with 137 tackles, including six for a loss, and four interceptions… Set a program career record with 1,467 kick return yards and third in school history with a 23.66 kick return average… Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team and to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team… NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Recipient… Selected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society… PAC Scholar Athlete of the Month for September… PAC Academic Honor Roll… Earned UAA Fall All-Academic recognition.
Junior (2016): Started the Spartan’s season-opening game, before missing the remainder of the season due to injury… Served as a team co-captain… Recorded eight tackles against Chicago, and returned a pair of kicks, including a 27-yard return… Received UAA All-Academic honors.
Sophomore (2015): Named to the All-UAA First Team as both a safety and a kick returner… selected to the All-PAC Second Team as a kick returner and an honorable mention as a defensive back… named the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week on October 12th after recording seven tackles, including one for a loss, against Waynesburg… played in all 10 games, including six in a starting role… led the PAC and was 24th among all Division III players with 26.3 yards per kickoff return… finished the season with 48 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss… added a fumble recovery, two interceptions and eight pass breakups during the year… had a season-high seven tackles, including one for a loss, against Waynesburg on October 10th… registered interceptions against Geneva on October 17th and Washington (Mo.) on October 31st… earned UAA All-Academic honors and was named to the PAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman (2014): Named to the All-UAA Second Team…appeared in eight games, making a pair of starts at safety…finished the year with eight tackles (four solo)…recorded his first career interception during the team’s season finale against Chicago on November 15…Returned 11 kicks during the year for 264 yards, including a season-long 41 yard return against Thomas More on November 8.
Personal: Earned three varsity letters in football as well as three in basketball and four in track & field at Bishop Watterson High School…Scholar-Athlete in all three sports…Academic All-Ohio for track & field…son of Tom and Molly Calhoun.
