2011: Started nine-of-10 games at defensive end, missing one due to injury…named first-team All-UAA…ranked second on the team with 6.5 sacks…also totaled 56 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one pass break-up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery...recorded first career blocked punt at Wooster on October 22…posted a career-best best 2.5 sacks in season finale at Carnegie Mellon on November 12...recorded a career-high 13 tackles versus Oberlin on October 8…named UAA All-Academic for a second-straight season.
2010: Started all 10 games and was named second-team All-UAA at defensive end…also earned UAA All-Academic honors…posted 42 tackles, including 8.5 for loss…finished second on the team with eight sacks in first season as a starter...recovered a pair of fumbles and forced another...totaled a season-high 10 tackles in Homecoming win versus Allegheny on October 2….recorded a season-best two sacks on two separate occasions…picked up first career fumble recovery versus Wooster on October 23…forced first career fumble versus Washington (Mo.) on November 6.
2009: Played in eight games as a freshman…made 31 tackles (15 solo), including five for loss, with one sack…totaled a season-high 11 tackles in NCAA Playoffs versus Trine on November 21.
Personal: Earned two varsity letters in football while also competing in baseball, basketball and track & field at nearby Mentor High School…served as football team captain in 2008 along with being named first-team All-Lake Erie League, LEL Offensive Lineman of the Year, first-team all-district and second-team All-Ohio…member of the National Honor Society and a two-time recipient of the Chemistry Student of the Year award…graduated summa cum laude…son of Lee and Amy Watson.
