Senior (2022): Named to the All-UAA Second Team… Started nine games on the mound for the Spartans, going 1-3 with a 4.11 ERA… Struck out 35 batters and walked 15 over 50.1 innings… Allowed a .319 opponents’ batting average, including a .250 batting average for opposing left-handed hitters… Named the UAA Pitcher of the Week on April 11 after earning a win against John Carroll, allowing one run on six hits and striking out a career-high 10 batters… Allowed three or fewer earned runs in eight of his nine starts… Received UAA Spring All-Academic Honors… Finished his CWRU career with a 13-8 overall record and a 3.48 ERA over 32 appearances and 31 starts… Ranked eighth in program history in career ERA and wins and 10th in career strikeouts (132).
Junior (2021): Pitched in nine games for the Spartans during his junior season, making eight starts… Went 4-3 with a 6.25 earned run average… Over 40.1 innings of work, struck out 28 batters and walked 11… Allowed just one run on four hits and two walks and struck out a season-high nine batters in six innings to pick up a win against Hiram in the Spartans’ season-opening game on March 13… Pitched five shutout innings in a win at Oberlin on April 10, allowing just two hits and striking out three batters… Ended his junior season ranked sixth in program history in career ERA (3.17), ninth in opponents’ batting average (.250), and second in walks per nine innings (1.94)… Received UAA Spring All-Academic recognition.
Sophomore (2020): Named to the All-University Athletic Association Team for the second-straight season… Made three starts during the season, finishing the year with a 1-0 record and a team-best 1.66 earned run average (tied for the fourth-best in program history)… Led the team with 21.2 innings pitched and 22 strikeouts… Walked just three batters, while holding opponents to a .222 batting average… Held left-handed hitters to a .125 (one-for-eight) batting average… Opposing hitters batted just .176 (six-for-34) with runners on base… Did not allow an earned run on six hits and a walk while striking out seven batters in seven innings in a no-decision against Earlham on February 22… Picked up a complete-game win against the College of Wooster, then-ranked 10th in Division III, on March 1… Came one out away from a shutout in the game, and allowed just five hits and no walks, while striking out a career-high nine batters… Named the NCBWA DIII Honorable Mention Pitcher of the Week and the UAA Athlete of the Week following the effort… Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team… Received Spring UAA All-Academic Recognition… Through two seasons, he has the lowest career ERA (1.92) in program history, while ranking second in opponents’ batting average (.207), walks per nine innings (1.73) and shutouts (2), and 13th in complete games (6).
First-Year (2019): Named to the ABCA/ Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Mideast Region Second Teams… Also earned a spot on the All-University Athletic Association Second Team following the season… Went 7-2 with a 1.99 ERA (seventh-lowest in school history) over 11 starts last season… Totaled five complete games (seventh in school history), including a pair of complete-game shutouts to match a school single-season record… Threw 77.0 innings (tied for sixth in program history), striking out 47 batters and walking just 16… Allowed 55 hits for a .202 batting average against… His seven wins were just one away from the school’s single-season record… Led the UAA in complete games (17th in DIII), WHIP (0.92, 20th in DIII), and hits per nine innings (6.43, 50th in DIII)… Third in the conference in ERA… Held left-handed hitters to a .145 (eight-of-55) batting average… Allowed three or fewer runs in all but one of his starts during the year, including five starts of one or fewer runs allowed… Registered six starts of seven or more innings… Pitched three-straight complete games from March 24 through April 6, including a nine-inning shutout against New York University on April 6… Allowed just five hits and two walks in the game, and later earned NCBWA Division III Rookie of the Week and UAA Athlete of the Week honors for the efforts… Pitched his second shutout of the season on April 27th against Brandeis, allowing five hits and striking out six over nine scoreless innings, and claiming his second UAA Pitcher of the Week award… Started four UAA games, going 2-1 with a 1.39 ERA and notching three complete games… Threw his fifth and final complete game of the campaign during the NCAA Tournament in a 4-2 win over Otterbein on May 17, surrendering just three hits and one earned run... Ranks first in school history in career ERA, and second in opponents’ batting average, walks per nine innings (1.87), and shutouts after his freshman year.
Personal: Was a four-year member of the Barron Collier High School baseball team, serving as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons... Coached by Charlie Maurer... Named the 2018 Naples Daily News Player of the Year and the FACA 6A Player of the Year... Selected to the all-area and all-conference teams in both 2017 and 2018... Led his team to the 6A District and Regional Championships as a senior... Was an AP Scholar from 2016-18, and was named his high school's student of the month... Born February 3...
