2015: Named to the All-University Athletic Association First Team…finished the season leading all Spartan pitchers with seven saves, a 1.80 ERA…went 3-2, appearing in a school-record 19 games, including 18 out of the bullpen, and pitched 35.0 innings…struck out 35 batters and walked 15, while holding opponents to a .214 batting average…named the UAA Player of the Week on March 30, after recording three saves in as many games, striking out seven and giving up three hits over 3.1 innings of work against Otterbein and Denison…held opponents scoreless in 11 of 19 outings during the year…had eight-consecutive scoreless appearances between March 12 and April 4…pitched six scoreless innings out of the bullpen in a 6-5 win against Washington (Mo.) on April 26…struck out a season-high six batters against both Brandeis on March 15 and Mount Aloysius on March 22.
2014: Pitched in 13 games with three starts…served as team’s primary closer before moving to starting rotation in mid-April…went 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA and five saves, tying personal best as the second most in program single-season history…totaled 33 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched…tied for third on the team in appearances and ranked third in ERA…threw six innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts in first collegiate start in game two of a doubleheader versus Washington & Jefferson on April 12…racked up a career-high nine strikeouts in just five innings of work in game one versus Denison on April 26…came on in relief and threw 7.2 shutout innings in a winning effort versus Widener during NCAA Mideast Regional elimination game on May 18.
2013: Made 13 relief appearances and earned the closer job midway through the season…led the team with five saves, tying for the second most in a season in program history…struck out 13 batters in 13.1 innings…recorded first career save with a scoreles sinning in game one of a doubleheader at Wesminster on April 6…struck out three batters in an outing twice…picked up the save with a clean inning versus No. 2 nationally ranked St. Thomas at the NCAA Midwest Regional on May 17.
2012: Appeared in two games on the mound as a freshman…threw two shutout innings with four strikeouts in UAA Championship Tournament action versus Brandeis on March 17.
Personal: Earned three varsity letters at Green Hope High School…named All-Tri-9 Conference Honorable Mention as a senior in 2011…selected as Academic All-Tri-9 Conference in 2009, 2010 and 2011…son of Ken and Kathy Sondag.
