Senior (2018): Named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team… Turned in a career-year during his senior campaign, notching a .471 (49-for-104) average (the second-highest in program history) with 10 doubles, a triple and three home runs… Also stole nine bases on 11 attempts, while scoring 24 runs and driving in 25… Led all Spartan players with a .673 slugging percentage (10th in CWRU history) and a .517 on base percentage (seventh in CWRU history)… Played in 29 total games, making 17 starts… Was second among all Spartan players with 15 multiple-hit games, including three three-hit games, three four-hit games and one five hit affair… Was tied for second on the team with six multiple RBI games, including a pair of three-RBI efforts… Batted .487 (38-for-78) against right-handed pitching during the campaign… Was three-for-four with the bases loaded… Hit .500 (18-for-36) with runners in scoring position and .595 (25-for-42) with two outs… Ended the year on a season-long eight game hitting streak… Saw time at second base, third base, left field and as the team’s designated hitter… Was five-for-six with two RBIs and a stolen base against Brandeis on April 8th, capping off a four-game series in which he had 12 hits in 18 at bats, including three doubles and a home run, four RBIs, five runs scored and three stolen bases, en route to earning UAA Athlete of the Week honors… Was also named the UAA Athlete of the Week on May 7, after going six-for-eight with five runs, four RBIs, a double, two home runs, a walk and two stolen bases in a pair of games against John Carroll… Had a walk-off ninth inning RBI double against Chicago on May 13… Hit .480 with one home run and 10 RBIs in conference play… Ended his career as a .312 hitter with four home runs, 66 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
Junior (2017): Played in 33 games during the season, including 28 starts, batting .209 with 12 runs scored, four doubles, a home run and 16 runs batted in… Added three stolen bases on four attempts… Hit .265 with runners on base and .267 with runners in scoring position… Was three-for-four with the bases loaded, including a grand slam against NYU on April 8, the first home run of his career… Recorded a season-long five game hitting streak between March 25 and April 2.
Sophomore (2016): Played in 35 games, including 32 in a starting role… Made 27 starts at second base and five at shortstop… Hit .277 with 17 runs scored, 19 runs batted in and 10 doubles… Also walked 17 times and recorded a .382 on base percentage… Stole three bases on as many attempts… Selected to the NCAA All-West Regional Tournament Team after batting .667 (four-for-six) with a double, two RBIs, two walks and a run scored during the Spartans’ two postseason games… Recorded a nine-game hitting streak between February 27th and March 11th… Had eight multiple hit games during the year, including a three-for-five game against Whitworth on May 18th… Drove in a season-high three runs during the team’s 19-12 win against Manchester on February 27th.
Freshman (2015): Played in 18 games, including 13 as a starter, during his freshman season…finished the year with a .239 average (11-for-46) with 11 runs scored, a double and six RBIs…hit .316 (six-for-19) with runners in scoring position…went two-for-three with three runs, an RBI and a double during his collegiate debut against Washington (Mo.) on March 8…had two RBI against NYU on March 12…hit safely in each of his first five games…hit .300 with eight runs scored and five RBI during the UAA Championships.
Personal: Earned three varsity letters at Turpin High School…named to 2014 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference Second Team…three-year scholar-athlete…member of the National Honor Society…son of Antonio and Gloria Capetillo.
