Senior (2017): Named an honorable mention to the All-PAC and All-UAA Teams… Turned in the best year of his career as a senior, finishing second on the team during the year with 26 receptions and 628 receiving yards, and third with four touchdown catches… His 24.15 yards per reception set a new school record and was the seventh-best mark among all NCAA Division III receivers during the year… Caught five passes for a career-high 148 yards against Saint Vincent on September 30… Caught a career-high six passes for 120 yards against Thiel, including a 68-yard touchdown catch, the longest reception of his career, and the longest reception by a Spartan in 2017… Also had touchdown receptions against Chicago, Washington and Westminster… Finished his career with 31 receptions for 682 yards and four touchdowns over 23 games played.
Junior (2016): Played in eight games for the Spartans during his junior season, including a pair in a starting role… Finished the season with four receptions for 47 yards… Caught two passes for 29 yards during the team’s win over Grove City.
Sophomore (2015): Saw action in one game during his sophomore season, playing in the Spartans’ win over Waynesburg on October 10th.
Freshman (2014): Saw action in a pair of games during the campaign, making his collegiate debut against Thiel on September 27…Caught one pass for seven yards against Thomas More on November 8.
Personal: Earned two varsity letters in football as well as four in track & field at Perry High School…two-year All-Chagrin Valley Conference Second Team…also named twice to All-Lake County First Team and All-Northeast Ohio District Honorable Mention squad…placed third in Ohio in Division II in the long jump…track & field team MVP…broke school records in the long jump and 100-meter dash…Academic All-Ohio…graduated in top 15 of PHS senior class…son of Bruce and Carrie Hurd.
