Senior (2017): Started all 12 games for the Spartans at outside linebacker during his senior season… Finished the season with 37 tackles, including 22 unassisted… Added three sacks during the campaign and 4.5 total tackles for a loss, while also breaking up a pair of passes… Had a season high seven tackles and a pair of sacks during the team’s regular-season finale against Carnegie Mellon… Added a sack and five tackles during the team’s first round NCAA Playoff win over 11th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan… Played in 36 games over his career, finishing his time as a Spartan with 107 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles and four interceptions… Selected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society… PAC Academic Honor Roll… Earned UAA Fall All-Academic recognition.
Junior (2016): Named to the All-UAA First Team and an honorable mention to the All-PAC Team during his junior year… Started all nine games he played in during the year… Finished the season ranked fourth among all CWRU players with 51 tackles, while leading all Spartans with four interceptions and three forced fumbles… Was 18th in Division III with .33 forced fumbles per game, and 51st with 0.4 interceptions per contest, ranking second among PAC players in both categories… Added two tackles for a loss, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries during the year… Named the UAA Defensive Player of the Week on September 27th after recording six tackles, an interception and a pass breakup against Waynesburg… Earned the honor again on October 3rd following a four-tackle, two interception game against Saint Vincent, that also included a forced fumble… Recorded a career-high 10 tackles against Thiel… Received UAA All-Academic honors.
Sophomore (2015): Played in all 10 games off the bench for the Spartans’ defense during his sophomore season… finished the year with 15 tackles, including one for a loss… had a season-high five tackles against Washington (Mo.) on October 31st… earned UAA All-Academic honors and was named to the PAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman (2014): Saw action in five games during the year, making his collegiate debut against Bethany on October 4…finished the year with four tackles, including two and a quarterback hurry against Chicago on November 15.
Personal: Earned three varsity letters in football as well as three in track & field at Potomac Senior High School…second-team all-conference selection on the gridiron in 2013…also all-district in 2012…son of Charles and Sheila Demery.
