Senior (2017): Named an honorable mention to the All-PAC Team… Played in and started 11 games during the season… Finished the year with 46 tackles, including 29 solo, while notching a pair of sacks and three tackles for a loss… Tallied a pair of interceptions during the year and broke-up five passes… Recorded interceptions in back-to-back weeks against Washington and Westminster… Had a season-high seven tackles during the team’s NCAA Playoff first round game against Illinois Wesleyan… Finished his career with eight interceptions and 106 tackles over 40 games played… PAC Academic Honor Roll.
Junior (2016): Named to the All-UAA Second Team and as an honorable mention to the All-PAC Team… Appeared in all 10 games during the year, including the final nine as a starter at cornerback… Recorded career highs with 38 tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions… Also tallied a tackle for a loss and a fumble recovery during the year… Named the UAA Defensive Player of the Week after recorded a career-high eight tackles, three pass breakups and an interception during the team’s win over Washington… Added interceptions during Spartan victories over Waynesburg and Thiel.
Sophomore (2015): Played in all 10 of the team’s games during the season, starting the final five at cornerback… named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week after setting a program-record with three interceptions against Washington University (Mo.) on October 31st… finished the year with 21 tackles, a fumble recovery, three interceptions, three pass breakups and a blocked kick.
Freshman (2014): Saw action in nine games during the season…punted 40 times for 1,434 yards, averaging 35.8 yards per punt…had two punts of over 50 yards, including a season-long 65 yard punt against Geneva on October 18…added four punts inside the opponents’ 20 yard line…blocked a kick against Thomas More on November 8.
Personal: Earned three varsity letters in football as well as four in track & field at Frontier Central High School…named to All-Western New York Second Team at defensive back in 2013…selected to Kensington Lion’s Club WNY All-Star Game in 2014…qualified in second place in Section 6 in the 200-meter dash and ran anchor for champion 4x400m relay team…also a goalkeeper for 2011 WNY State Champion soccer club team…member of the National Honor Society…recipient of Louis Stokes Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Scholarship…son of William and Iva Cannon.
