Case Western Reserve University men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Carter Shedd was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for Defense for the second consecutive week based on his performance in the last two games.

Shedd recorded a pair of shutouts to help the second-ranked Spartans stay unbeaten in 2026. On Wednesday night at home, Shedd made a pair of saves and kept John Carroll off the board in a scoreless tie. Later in the week, the sophomore goalkeeper saved three shots and did not allow a goal in a 2-0 road victory over Trine. Shedd faced 19 shots across the two games. The Spartans have shut out six of their past seven opponents.

This season, Shedd has allowed just three goals (including one own goal) in 760:58 for a 0.35 goals against average. He has 18 saves and a .857 save percentage in nine starts. This is the second UAA Athlete of the Week honor of his career.

CWRU will enter conference play undefeated for the second consecutive season, posting an 8-0-1 record in non-league play. The Spartans will begin their UAA schedule with a trip to Rochester, New York, on Saturday, October 3 to face the University of Rochester at 5 p.m.
