Junior infielder Karen Potts of the Case Western Reserve University softball team has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region VII First Team, the organization announced on Friday.
Potts earned her second career All-Region honor after being named to the Second Team in 2024. She will move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced Wednesday, May 27.
Through 41 games, Potts leads the team in batting average (.419), on-base percentage (.494), slugging percentage (.816), runs scored (55), hits (57), runs batted in (38), doubles (16), home runs (12), walks (22), and stolen bases (31). She has started every game for the team this season at shortstop, committing just 10 errors in 188 chances. With her 30th stolen base on Thursday, Potts became the fourth player in program history to swipe at least 30 bags in a single season and just the second to slug at least 10 homers in the same season.
Earlier in the week, Potts was named the University Athletic Association Position Player of the Year and received her second career All-UAA First Team selection.
CWRU was selected to the postseason for the fifth consecutive season and advanced to the final of the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Regional with two wins over the last two days. The team will play for a spot in the Super Regional Round on Saturday at 11 a.m.
