Eleven members of the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams received All-Great Lakes Region accolades from the USTFCCCA, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior runner Arianna Holbrook, senior thrower Michelle Lee, senior hurdler Grace Misiunas, senior runner Melanie Taylor, junior runner Jacob Slater, sophomore runner Donovan Crowley, first-year sprinter Samaria Benochi, first-year sprinter Elizabeth Crossan, first-year runner Chance Krenzer, first-year sprinter Gianna Phipps, and first-year runner Jay Woodhouse were all honored by the organization. To receive the award, student-athletes needed to finish the season with a top eight mark in an individual event or a top eight relay time.
Holbrook ranked third in the region in the 800-meter run with a program record time of 2:16.18 she ran at the 2026 University Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 28. Her time ranked 53rd in Division III. This is Holbrook's second career All-Region honor after she was member of the awarded distance medley relay in 2024.
Lee ranked fourth in the region in the weight throw with a mark of 16.58 meters that she recorded at the Ed Finnigan Invitational on February 20. Lee's mark was the 40th-best in Division III this season. This is her first career All-Region honor.
Misiunas ran a school-record time of 8.99 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2026 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Her time in the event ranked eighth in the region. Misiunas is earning her second career All-Region honor and her first career honor for the indoor season.
Taylor, Benochi, and Crossan were all members of the 4x400-meter relay that set a school record with a time of 3:59.96 on March 1 at the UAA Indoor Championships. The time, after converting for track size, ranked sixth in the region. Taylor is receiving her third career All-Region honor after twice earning the accolade in the distance medley relay (2023, 2024). Benochi and Crossan were recognized for the first time in their careers.
Crowley recorded a time of 4:12.50 in the mile run at the UAA Track and Field Championships on March 1. After converting for track size, he ranked second in the region and 43rd nationally. Crowley was also a member of the distance medley relay that had the seventh-fastest time in the region. These are his third and fourth career All-Region honors, including two from the cross country seasons.
Slater, Krenzer, and Woodhouse joined Crowley on the distance medley relay which finished in 10:21.49 on February 28 at the UAA Indoor Championships. Slater earned his third career All-Region honor but his first during the track and field season. Krenzer and Woodhouse earned their first career All-Region honors.
Phipps set a school record in the 400-meter dash on March 1 at the UAA Track and Field Championships, recording a time of 56.40 seconds. After converting for track size, she ranked second in the region and ninth nationally in the event. Phipps was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay and ran the eighth-fastest time in the region in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 25.47 seconds came on the first day of the UAA Indoor Championships and set a school record. These are her first three career All-Region honors.
Phipps will be representing CWRU at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, racing in the 400-meter dash prelims on Friday, March 13 at approximately 3:05 p.m. The 400-meter dash finals are scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 4:25 p.m. The national championship takes place at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.
