The 18th-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team defeated 25th-ranked Christopher Newport University 4-0 on Sunday morning at the Duchossis Tennis Center in Lexington, Virginia, to conclude the Groundhog Palooza hosted by Washington & Lee University.
The Spartans improved to 4-1 this season, while the Captains dropped to 2-2.
CWRU was initially scheduled to play Swarthmore, but the Garnet were unable to remain in Virginia due to anticipated inclement weather in Pennsylvania. Case Western Reserve and Christopher Newport are no longer scheduled play at the Blue Grey Invite in March.
