Coyne Receives Invite to Giants Rookie Camp

Case Western Reserve University senior wide receiver Noah Coyne has received an invitation to the New York Giants Rookie Mini-Camp as he will aim to continue his football career post-graduation.

Coyne will become the first CWRU football team member to join an NFL team as a player since Erwin Grabisna was selected by the Los Angeles Raiders in the sixth round of the 1988 draft.

"It felt surreal when I got the call, but everything is starting to settle in," said Coyne. "I'm really excited to be given the opportunity to showcase the culmination of all the hard work in my entire football career in front of the Giants. Being able to do something that a very small percentage of college football players get the chance to do, especially coming from the Division III level, is something I could have never dreamed of doing."

Coyne ended his career as one of the top receivers in program history, amassing 152 catches for 2,465 yards and 29 touchdowns during his four years, including 58 catches for 765 yards and 11 scores this past season. He is a two-time All-PAC honoree, including a second-team selection this past year, and was a D3football.com All-Region Third-Team selection as a junior.

The Giants' rookie mini-camp will take place from May 9-10 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

"It is rare that Division III athletes receive this kind of opportunity," said CWRU Head Football Coach Greg Debeljak. "It is a tribute to the outstanding work Noah has put in during his time at CWRU."

Coyne, a finance major at CWRU, is scheduled to graduate later in May.
