Two members of the Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team earned All-University Athletic Association honors on the second day of the 2025 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Chicago at the Henry Crown Fieldhouse in Chicago on Sunday.
Graduate student thrower Michaela Burkhauser secured her second All-UAA honor of the championship with a second-place finish in the shot put. She recorded a mark of 13.58 meters after also finishing second in the weight throw on Saturday.
On the track, junior runner Lauren Iagnemma was the runner-up in the 3000-meter run when she crossed the line at 9:52.68. She held off Chicago's Nora Holmes (9:52.73) and Estelle Snider (9:52.95) on the final stretch run to finish on the podium. The time was also a school record, breaking her previous record of 9:55.50 set at the GVSU Big Meet earlier this season.
Overall, the CWRU women's track and field team placed fourth in the conference out of seven schools with 55.0 points. WashU was the conference champion with 181.0 points, followed by Chicago with 160.5 points and Emory with 112.0 points. Trailing the Spartans were Brandeis (51.5 points), Carnegie Mellon (29.0), and NYU (27.0).
Junior runner Arianna Holbrook scored points for the Spartans in the 800-meter run, placing seventh in the finals in 2:21.06. She qualified with a preliminary time of 2:19.55 on Saturday. The 4x400-meter relay of first-year Riley Friedman, junior Melanie Taylor, junior Julia Hluck, and first-year Siena Kannenberg closed the meet with a fifth-place finish in 4:07.79.
Looking to improve their marks for national qualification, the Spartan track and field teams will compete at a pair of last chance meets, the Tufts Final Qualifier hosted by Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, on Saturday, March 8.

- Iagnemma earned her fourth career All-UAA honor on Sunday. She has two accolades during the cross country seasons (2024, 2023) and was a member of the third-place 4x800-meter relay at the 2023 Outdoor Championships
- Holbrook also competed in the mile run, finishing 10th in 5:11.61, the fourth-best time in program history
- The fourth place finish in the conference is the best for the Case Western Reserve women's track and field team at the indoor meet since 2017 when the team also placed fourth
