Case Western Reserve University graduate student Michaela Burkhauser competed in the shot put at the 2025 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships on Saturday in Rochester, New York, placing 20th in the event.
Burkhauser registered her best throw on her first attempt, hitting a mark of 11.90 meters. After fouling on the second attempt, her third throw traveled 11.49 meters.
The event marked the end of a strong indoor season for Burkhauser, her first as a Spartan. Burkhauser recorded the second-best shot put distance in school history with a mark of 13.78 meters and the third-best weight throw ever by a Spartan with a distance of 16.27 meters during the year.
Saturday's action concludes the 2024-25 indoor track and field season for the Spartans. CWRU will begin its outdoor campaign next weekend when the team travels to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington & Lee Track Carnival on March 21 and 22.
