Rochester trimmed the lead down to five by the 5:46 mark, but four of Hartjes' five threes came in the final 5:30 of the third quarter, including three in the final 95 seconds of the period, helping CWRU lead by as many as 12 during the frame and take an 11-point lead, 41-30, into the fourth. The Spartans led by double digits for most of the fourth quarter and never saw their lead dip below seven points in the frame, before closing out the 11-point win.
