Case Western Reserve University junior pitcher Kylie Hosey was named the University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week following her performance in four games last weekend.
Hosey went 2-0 for the seventh-ranked Spartans during the team's four-game home sweep of NYU. She allowed an earned run average of 2.00, giving up just two runs in seven innings of work across two games. Hosey started the second game of Friday's doubleheader, an 11-1 five-inning win, allowing just one run in a complete game effort. On Saturday, she earned the win in relief, allowing one run on one hit across the final two innings of a 6-5 Spartan win.
This season, Hosey is 8-0 with two complete games, allowing a 2.23 ERA and opponents' batting average of .242. This is her second UAA Athlete of the Week honor this season and the sixth of her career.
Case Western Reserve improved to 19-2 on the season with the sweep and started UAA play with a 4-0 record.
CWRU will continue conference play this weekend with a four-game home series against Emory University starting on Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m.
