Case Western Reserve University graduate student guard Mitch Prendergast has been named to the roster for the 2023 NABC-Reese's Division III College All-Star Game, to be held Saturday, March 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Division III All-Star Game, held in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, features the top senior talent across Division III. Rosters include representation from each Division III region.
Prendergast became the first player in program history to be named the University Athletic Association Most Valuable Player after finishing the season third among all UAA players with 17.2 points per game overall and second among conference players with 17.1 points per contest in league play. He finished the regular season shooting 44.3% overall and 36.5% from three-point range. Prendergast added 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. He scored 20 or more points seven times during the year, including a season-high 29 points against both Emory and WashU in back-to-back CWRU wins. He was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week and the UAA Athlete of the Week after scoring 14 points and collecting 10 rebounds against Rochester and the 29-point showing against Emory.
Prendergast has been named to Team Hixon, which will be coached by former Amherst Coach Dave Hixon. Hixon spent 42 years as the head coach at Amherst, where he won 826 games – the third most in Division III history – and captured national titles in 2007 and 2013.

The CWRU men's basketball team won the UAA Championship for the first time in program history during the 2022-23 season, setting a program record for wins with a 22-4 overall mark and reaching the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship for the second-straight season.
