Box Score The Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team fell to Emory University 79-48 on Senior Day at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Spartans fell to 14-8 overall and 5-6 in University Athletic Association contests. The Eagles improved to 15-6 overall and 6-5 in the UAA.
Prior to the game, the team's final home contest of the season, CWRU honored its two senior players—guard/forward Isabella Mills and guard Claire Poulton—during a special Senior Day ceremony.
Sophomore forward Evie Miller led the team with 10 points off the bench and added four rebounds. Mills collected a team-high six rebounds to go along with nine points.
The Spartans scored the first three points of the game three minutes into the first quarter to hold their only lead of the contest. Emory led by as many as 38 points midway through the fourth quarter.
Case Western Reserve collected 12 offensive rebounds, compared to just three for Emory, leading to 12 second chance points. The Spartan bench outscored the Eagle bench 30-25.
With the home portion of the campaign wrapped up, CWRU will look to get back in the win column during its final two-game UAA road trip. The Spartans will face conference-leading #22 WashU on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET in St. Louis before heading to Chicago to face the 13th-ranked Maroons on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
