Case Western Reserve University senior goalkeeper Maggie Storti earned her second University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week honor this season following her performance for the women's soccer team last weekend.
Storti recorded her eighth shutout of the season as the eighth-ranked Spartans battled third-ranked archrival Carnegie Mellon to a scoreless draw on Saturday at the CMU Soccer Field in Pittsburgh. She made five saves in the contest to blank the Tartans, lowering her goals against average to 0.50 and increasing her save percentage to 0.849 this season.
Storti has a program-record 26 career shutouts, allowing a goals against average of 0.60 in 59 matches. This is the fifth UAA Athlete of the Week honor of her career.
The Spartans ended the regular season with a record of 11-1-4 and a 3-1-3 mark in the UAA, placing third in conference.
CWRU earned an at-large selection to the 2023 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship and will face Grove City at DiSanto Field on Saturday in the first round. If the Spartans advance, they will play the advancing team from the matchup between crosstown rival John Carroll and Cortland on Sunday.
