Case Western Reserve University senior middle blocker Jennifer Ngo was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for Offense based on her performance during the Spartan volleyball team's 2-1 week.

Ngo recorded 33 kills (3.30 per set) for the team over three matches last week. In a home sweep of Oberlin on Wednesday night, Ngo registered nine kills and added two service aces and four total blocks. On Sunday, in a sweep of Rochester at the second UAA round robin at the University of Chicago, she had nine kills and .400 attacking percentage, adding six digs for the team defensively. In a four-set loss to fifth-ranked Emory later in the day, Ngo led the team with 15 kills, had a .316 hitting percentage, and totaled three blocks.

This season, she ranks third in the UAA in kills per set (3.46), third in attacking percentage (.352), first in total blocks per set (1.25), and first in points (301.5). Nationally, Ngo ranks seventh in Division III in blocks per set, second in total blocks, and 21st in points per set. In conference play, she leads the UAA in hitting percentage, kills per set, and points, and ranks second in blocks per set.

This is the third UAA Athlete of the Week honor for Ngo this season and the fourth of her career. The Spartans improved to 16-5 overall and 3-2 in UAA play following the week.

The CWRU volleyball team returns home on Wednesday for a non-conference contest, facing Hiram College inside Horsburgh Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
