Case Western Reserve University senior defensive end AJ Dudowski was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to a 35-0 win over Waynesburg on Saturday at DiSanto Field.
Dudowski finished the game with four tackles (two solo), including one sack, two-and-a-half tackles for loss, and one quarterback hurry. His effort helped to hold Waynesburg to just 187 yards of total offense, including just 56 rushing yards. The shutout was the third of the season for the Spartans' defense, matching the program record for shutouts in a campaign (originally set in 1986).
Dudowski has 34 total tackles this season, including seven for a loss and three sacks, and three quarterback hurries. This was the first PAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career.
The Spartans improved to 6-1 overall with the win, the team's fifth-straight victory. CWRU will face a road test this week, traveling to Washington, Pennsylvania for a 6:05 p.m. kickoff against Washington and Jefferson College on Saturday, October 28.
