The Spartans improved to 4-0-0 on the season with their 28th straight regular season win over a non-conference opponent. The Owls fell to 1-3-1.
Hartman opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, converting a penalty kick for her fourth goal of the season. It was the first penalty kick opportunity of the season for CWRU and Hartman's fourth consecutive match with a goal.
Less than 10 minutes later, Mueller doubled the Spartan advantage with her first career goal. Senior forward Aniya Hartzler sent a corner kick into the middle of the box. After first-year forward Andrea Silva headed the ball toward the goal, Mueller further deflected it into the back of the net. Both Hartzler and Silva were credited with assists on the play, the first of the season for both of them. It was Hartzler's 12th career assist, and Silva's first.
The Spartans controlled possession throughout the match, attempting 19 shots to the Owls 4. The CWRU backline allowed just one shot on goal, which was saved by junior goalkeeper Maggie Storti. She recorded her third shutout of the season and 13th of her career, moving her into a tie for fourth in program history, and improved to 4-0-0 on the season.
