The Case Western Reserve University track and field teams sent a limited squad to the Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Wednesday and Thursday in Alliance, Ohio, the final opportunity for the team to qualify for the 2022 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.

Senior mid-distance runner Logan Singer placed third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:55.82. Last week, Singer set a new school record in the event, finishing in 3:48.64, the 28th-best time in Division III

Sophomore thrower Adrienne Wachtman placed third in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.11 meters. Earlier in the season, Wachtman recorded a mark of 38.48 meters, the best by a Spartan this season and 35th-best mark in Division III.

The Mount Union Last Chance Meet wraps up the regular season for the CWRU track and field teams, as the squads turn their attention to the NCAA Championship. The official list of qualifiers will be released on Friday, May 20 at 8 p.m. For each men's event, the athletes with the 20 best marks are selected to the field, while for each women's event, the athletes with the 22 best marks are selected. Junior distance runner Joe Jaster, with the 14th-best mark in the 5,000-meter run, is in a strong position to qualify for the Spartans.
