Spartans Track & Field Competes at Snow Globe Invite

Highlighting the Spartan performances on Saturday, senior Dominic Oddo finished first in the long jump as the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams finished competition at the Snow Globe Invitational, hosted by Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.

Finishing first in the event, Oddo hit a mark of 6.69 meters. In addition, he also earned a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.75.

Also with strong performances for the Spartan men, first-year Keith Cartwright finished second in the triple jump (11.75m), first-year Kenny Suen placed third in the triple jump (11.30m), senior Jonathan Haling finished third in the 60-meter dash (7.20) and junior Thomas Patton placed third in the 800-meter run (2:01.71).

Hradesky also added a fourth-place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.62, while first-year Keith Roberts placed fifth in the event with a time of 53.65. First-year Joe Jaster earned a fourth-place finish in the mile-run (4:28.34), while junior Luke Traverso (fourth, 3.80m) and junior Ryan Burns (fifth, 3.65m) each placed within the top-five of the pole vault.

The Spartan women had four top-three finishes at the meet, as junior Madison Vargo finished second in the 800-meter run (2:32.52), senior Bailey Flint and first-year Mia Vargo tied for second in the high jump (1.50m) and senior Samantha Kelts placed third in the triple jump (10.36m).

In addition, junior Taylor Jackson earned a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.15 meters and first-year Shelby Cooper placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 2.65 meters. Junior Andrea Arline finished fourth in the triple jump (9.76m) and Flint placed fifth in the triple jump (9.59m), while first-year Mia Kilroy finished fifth in the high jump (1.45m).

Case Western Reserve will return to competition next weekend when the team hosts the 12th Annual Battle for the Obelisk on Saturday, January 25th against Carnegie Mellon University.
