The Spartans improve to 4-4-1 on the season, while Kenyon drops to 8-1-0.

The game was scoreless throughout regulation, before Wargo struck for the game-winning score, his first of the season, with just 5:14 left to play in the first overtime period. The sophomore launched a shot from the top of the box that evaded traffic and found the back of the goal for the match-clinching score.

It marked the first game-winning overtime goal by a CWRU men's soccer player since former Spartan Noah Kleedtke tallied the game-winner against Carnegie Mellon University in the second overtime period on November 11, 2015.

CWRU withstood the Kenyon attack throughout the entire game. The Spartans were led by the outstanding play of junior goalkeeper Calvin Boyle who recorded a season-high 10 saves.

Tuesday's win marked the highest-ranked opponent defeated by the CWRU men's soccer team in program history.

The Spartans are back in action when they open conference play against University Athletic Association rival New York University on Saturday, October 1st at 1:30 p.m. at DiSanto Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
