Box Score CLEVELAND – The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team lost 1-0 in double overtime to New York University on Saturday afternoon at DiSanto Field.
With the setback, the Spartans drop to 7-3-2 overall with an 0-2 mark in the University Athletic Association. The Violets are now 9-3 (2-0 UAA).
NYU senior forward Cami Crawford scored the only goal of the match at the 107:02 mark when she coverted a shot from the right wing.
Violet goalkeeper Cassie Steinberg earned her ninth win of the season by making three saves. Spartan senior goalkeeper Abbey Smith (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) made three stops in the loss.
NYU owned a 10-8 advantage in shot attempts and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Spartans will return to action on Friday, October 17 with a home match versus Washington University in St. Louis. Kickoff against the Bears is scheduled for 7:30 p.m at DiSanto Field.
