Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – One hundred and 10 minutes of action weren't enough to decide a winner as the Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with host Brandeis University (Mass.) during University Athletic Association action on Saturday at Gordon Field.
The Spartans increase their unbeaten streak to five (4-0-1) and stand at 7-2-3 for the season and 1-0-1 in the UAA. The team returns to action and continues conference play on Friday, October 12 versus No. 1 Emory University (Ga.). Kickoff in Atlanta is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
With the tie, Brandeis sits at 10-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the Association.
Case sophomore forward Christine Straka (Prospect Heights, Ill./Saint Viator) and junior forward Leah Levey (Columbus, Ohio/Bexley) tied for game high in attempts with four shots each.
Between the pipes, freshman Megan Romelfanger (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) faced 29 shots and recorded a career-high nine saves. The clean sheet was Romelfanger's third-straight and the team's fourth in a row.
Brandeis' Francine Kofinas faced seven Spartan shots and recorded pair of saves during the opening 45:00, while Michelle Savuto stopped a quartet of shots during the second stanza and two overtime periods.
For the game, Brandeis held a 29-16 advantage in shots as well as a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
