The longest win streak in school history is 10, which came during the 1971-72 season.
LAST MEETING
Tonight's meeting marks the first-ever men's basketball game between Case Western Reserve and Kalamazoo.
THE SERIES AGAINST THE MIAA
Since the Case and Western Reserve federation in 1967, the Spartans have played a total of nine games against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schools. Overall, Case Western Reserve has managed a 3-6 record with wins over Adrian College (Mich.) by a 63-61 score during the 1981-82 season, Alma College (Mich.) via an 88-69 score in 2007-08 and most recently over Trine University (Ind.) by a 77-73 tally just three seasons ago.
TOURNAMENT TIME
The Spartans will host the second of their two tournaments this season with the annual Bill Sudeck Holiday Tournament on Thursday and Friday, December 29-30 inside Horsburgh Gymnasium. The tournament is named in honor of the late Bill Sudeck, who served the University for 46 years as head coach of the basketball, cross country, and track & field teams. Sudeck won 329 games on the hardwood and was inducted into the Spartan Club Hall of Fame in 1997.
THROWBACK WEEKEND
The Case Western Reserve University Athletic Department will be taking a step back in time during the weekend of February 3-5 when it hosts the seventh annual Throwback Weekend at Horsburgh Gymnasium. Both the Spartan men's and women's basketball teams will be wearing uniforms commemorating Western Reserve University (Red Cats), Case Institute of Technology (Rough Riders), and Mather College. WRU and CIT federated in 1967 to become Case Western Reserve University.
