Box Score GRANVILLE, Ohio – After 110 minutes of action and two overtime periods, the Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with host and No. 25 nationally-ranked Denison University on Sunday, September 5 at Barclay Thomsen Field. The Spartans finished weekend tournament action at 1-0-1 following yesterday's 2-0 victory at Kenyon College.
The Spartans move to 1-1-1 for the season and return to action on Friday and Saturday, September 10-11 at the John Carroll University Invitational in University Heights. Case opens the weekend versus Oberlin College at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. With the tie, Denison sits at 2-0-1.
Sophomore midfielder Devyn Lee (Pennsylvania Furnace, PA/State College) led the Spartans with three shots, including one on goal.
In net, Case sophomore Chelsea Lasky (Fairview, PA/Fairview) faced 14 shots and posted six saves. Denison's Andrea Karl faced 11 shots and recorded five saves.
For the game, Denison held a 14-11 advantage in shots, but only managed three attempts at goal following the first half. The Big Red also held the edge in corner kicks, 7-3.
