Box Score OBERLIN, Ohio –The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision on the road versus Oberlin College on Saturday, September 18 at Fred Shults Field.
With the loss, the Spartans fall to 3-2-2 overall and will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m. versus Heidelberg University at Case Field in Cleveland.
Oberlin got on the board just two minutes into the contest as Aki Gormezano scored following a Yeomen corner kick.
Case tied the game in the 26th minute on a follow-up shot by junior forward Vinny Bell (Parma Heights, OH/Valley Forge) via an assist from senior midfielder Alex King (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh.
The score remained locked until Wyatt Hayman scored off of a free kick in the 68th minute to give the Yeomen the 2-1 victory.
Bell led all players with seven shots on goal as Case combined to outshoot Oberlin, 21-10. The Spartans also held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-4.
