Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. –The Case Western Reserve women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision on the road to open University Athletic Association play against Brandeis University on Saturday, October 2 at Gordon Field. Case dropped to 6-3-1 overall on the season, while Brandeis improved to 8-1-1.
Sophomore Kendra Simmons (Medina, OH/Walsh Jesuit) found the net in the first half as the Spartans went into the break with a 2-1 deficit.
In goal, the Judges' Francine Kofinas made eight saves overall as Brandeis blanked Case 3-0 in the second stanza. For Case, sophomore starter Chelsea Lasky Fairview, PA (Villa Maria Academy) was credited with two saves. Freshman Kerry Martenis (Southgate, MI) made four saves in the second half.
The Judges outshot Case 21-17 on the afternoon and also edged the Spartans in corner kicks, 5-3.
Case will look to rebound from the loss versus Hiram College on Wednesday, October 6.
