Wrestling Room

The wrestling room, located inside the Veale Center, is home to the Case Western Reserve wrestling program and serves as its primary practice facility.

Featuring two 42' x 42' mats, workout equipment, cubbies for storage, and flat-screen televisions, the facility allows for ample space for all practice and conditioning activities for the team.

The Wrestling room is dedicated to Claude B. Sharer, who was the wrestling coach for the Case Institute of Technology from 1927-66. The room was created as a result of a gift from Helen and John T. Vaughan (CIT ’37) and it was dedicated on June 1, 1990.

The room honors the programs academic and athletic achievements, as the walls recognize NCAA Champions, Olympians, Scholar All-Americans, Spartan Club Hall of Fame honorees, Wrestling Hall of Fame inductees, and conference team titles.

In addition, several individuals are recognized for the impact that they made on CWRU wrestling program, including Hall of Fame Head Coach Robert ‘Bob’ Del Rosa, four-time All-American Zach Kallai, two-time NCAA Champion Chris Ricklic, Olympian William Kerslake, and NCAA Champions Derek Messmer and Isaac Dukes.
