Prior to CWRU

Was a four-year member of the Taylor Allderdice High School track and field team and three-year member of the cross country team, serving as captain of both teams as a senior...Coached by Ed Flynn and Elaine Heinrich...Recorded personal-best times of 20:30 in the 5k, 2:28 in the 800m, and 1:04 in the 400m...Had personal-best mark of 4'9" in the high jump...Also played basketball and soccer in high school.
