Biography

Senior (2020): Appeared in six games during his senior season, including four as a starter in right field… Batted .231 (three-for-13) and drove in three runs during the campaign… Hit .429 (three-of-seven) with runners on base and .500 (three-of-six) with runners in scoring position… Was three-for-five with three runs batted in during the Spartans’ 12-3 win over Roger Williams on March 12… Received Spring UAA All-Academic Recognition… Finished his senior season batting .268 with two home runs and 47 RBIs.

Junior (2019): Played in 26 games during his junior season, including 22 in a starting role… Hit .304 with two home runs and 11 RBIs, while scoring 22 runs… Added two doubles and a triple, while slugging .430… Walked 11 times and was hit by nine pitches to raise his on base percentage to .444… Also stole one base on four attempts… Registered six multiple hit games and three multiple RBI games… Ended the year on a season-best four-game hitting streak… Recorded a .600 on base percentage when leading off an inning… Batted .317 (19-of-60) against right-handed pitching… Started all four of the Spartans’ postseason games, batting .333 (five-for-15) with a home run, a triple three RBIs and two runs scored… Led all CWRU players with 12 runs scored in UAA games, batting .263 with a home run and four RBIs… Went three-for-three with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs in the second game of a doubleheader against NYU on April 6… Reached base five times against Roger Williams on March 12, going two-for-three with two runs, three RBIs, two hit-by-pitches and a stolen base… Walked three times and scored three runs against Brandeis on April 28… Made three appearances on the mound during the year as well, recording a 9.00 ERA over four innings of work, while holding opponents to a .235 batting average… Did not allow an earned run in two innings of work against Roger Williams on March 13… Received UAA Spring All-Academic honors.

Sophomore (2018): Played in 35 games and made 32 starts during his sophomore season, seeing time in the outfield and at first base… Batted .230 (26-for-113) with seven doubles, 12 runs scored and 15 runs batted in… Slugged .292 and recorded a .326 on base percentage… Stole two bases on four attempts… Registered four multiple-hit games and tw multiple RBI games during the season… Recorded a 10-game hitting streak, the second-longest by a CWRU player during the season, from March 4-24... Hit .276 (eight-for-29) against left-handed pitching… Went three-for-four with two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base against Rochester on March 15… Received UAA All-Academic honors.

First-Year (2017): Made 23 started and played in 29 total games during his freshman season, batting .289 with 18 runs scored, 18 RBIs, and six doubles… Stole five bases on seven attempts… Saw time in the outfield and at first base, in addition to serving as a designate hitter during the campaign… Hit .346 (18-of-52) with runners on base and .412 (14-of-34) with runners in scoring position… Had six multiple hit games and four multiple RBI games during the year, including a three-for-five performance with three RBIs and a double against Washington and Jefferson on March 4… Tallied a season-high six-game hitting streak between February 26 and March 11, batting .476 (10-for-21) with six RBIs and three doubles during the stretch.

Personal: Was a four-year member of the St. Xavier High School baseball team... Coached by Bob Sherlock... Named to the GCL South First Team and an All-City Honorable Mention his senior year, in addition to being named the team's Most Outstanding Defensive Player... GCL South Honorable Mention in 2014 and 2015... Senior Academic All-Ohio Team in 2016... Batted .315 with 65 hits and 19 doubles over his career... A four-year honor roll selection, in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society... Also played football in high school... Born June 28... Son of Joe and Amy... His father played baseball at Ohio State... Sister, Hannah, is a softball player at Washington (Mo.).
