Olivia Cattau joined the CWRU track and field coaching staff prior to the 2023-24 season.
Cattau spent the previous two seasons as an assistant track and field coach with Pacific Lutheran University, working primarily with the high jumpers, hurdlers, and multi-event athletes. She mentored an NCAA Indoor Championships qualifier, two Northwest Conference Freshmen of the Year, one NWC champion, and a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
Cattau restarted the multi-event program at PLU in addition to working as a recruiting coordinator for sprinters, jumpers, and multi-event athletes. She coached all events for pentathlon, heptathlon, and decathlon athletes, assisted with meet preparations, and helped run the Lute track and field social media accounts. Cattau also worked as an assistant coach at the high school level, coaching cross country and track and field at Ingraham High School in Seattle for one season.
A multi-event student-athlete at the University of Chicago, Cattau was a member of the Maroon track and field team from 2014-18. She qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships as a junior in the 4x400-meter relay and heptathlon and earned All-UAA honors six times during her career in four events.
Cattau graduated from Chicago with a degree in environmental sciences in 2018 and earned a Master of Science degree at the University of Washington School of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences in 2023. She is certified as a USTFCCCA combined event specialist and USATF official at the apprentice level.
