Graduated from Fort Lee High School, where he did not compete in swimming & diving...Swam for Phoenix Aquatic Club, where he was coached by Don Wagner...Swam personal best times of 58.09 seconds (100 Y Breast), 21.99 seconds (50 Y Free), 48.99 seconds (100 Y Free), and 52.66 (100 Y Fly)...Also competed in track & field in high school.
