2017-18: Posted season-best times in the 500 Free (4:43.64), the 1000 Free (9:51.66) and the 400 IM (4:14.75) at the College of Wooster Invitational...also added a season-best time of 16:21.10 in the 1650 Free at the 2018 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
2016-17: Swam season-best times in the 200 Free (1:45.24), 500 Free (4:40.78) and 1650 Free (16:11.96) at the 2017 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships...also added a season-best time of 4:14.13 in the 400 IM at the College of Wooster Invitational.
2015-16: Recorded season-best times of 52.15 in the 100 Free against Oberlin College, 2:12.11 in the 200 IM against John Carroll University, and 4:15.82 in the 400 IM at the College of Wooster Invitational.
2014-15: Did not compete during his sophomore season.
2013-14: Earned first varsity letter as a freshman…competed in five different events…won 1,000 free at Cleveland City Tournament on November 2.
Personal: Earned four varsity letters at Valley High School…named Academic All-Iowa in 2013…first-team All-Iowa finisher in the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.93) in 2013…member of the 2010 State Championship team…member of the National Honor Society…National Merit commended student…recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction…four-year member of the Iowa All-State Orchestra (string bass)…son of John Merriman and Barbara Beatty.
