Russo was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Cleveland Super Regional, helping the seventh-ranked Spartans reach the NCAA Finals for the second time in program history with a sweep of Coe College. Russo hit .500 (four-for-eight) across the two games, driving in three runs and scoring once. In the first game of the series, an 8-5 CWRU win, Russo tied the score at one with a first inning double. In the series-clinching 8-3 win on Friday, she brought in a run in the first inning and one in the second inning to help the Spartans build a 6-0 advantage. Russo also played errorless defense at first base, recording nine putouts in the two contests. This season, she is hitting .331 with a .401 on-base percentage and .451 slugging percentage, driving in 28 runs, and scoring 30 times. The Spartans improved to 40-7 on the season with the sweep, setting a new program record for wins in a single campaign.
