Arch placed eighth in the 165-pound bracket at the historic Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational at the King Arena in Wheaton, Illinois, last weekend. Arch, ranked seventh in the Central Region, went 3-1 on the first day of competition, starting his weekend with a pin in 57 seconds. Following a loss to fall into the consolation bracket, he responded with back-to-back pins in 1:08 and 3:41. He finished the day with a thrilling 18-14 decision to advance to placement day. Arch lost both of his matches on the second day, placing eighth with a loss in the seventh-place match. He still became the first Spartan to place at the event since 2018. CWRU placed 18th out of 32 teams at the meet with 43.0 team points. Arch, who went 4-3 at the invite, won his 100th career match as well, becoming the 14th Spartan to reach the milestone and first since Isaac Dukes in 2011. This season, he is 24-11 (.686) with 22 pins, the most in Division III, and one technical fall.
