Mazzeo was the leading scorer for the fifth-ranked Spartans in a pair of University Athletic Association wins at home this past weekend. Mazzeo averaged 26.5 points over the two contests, shooting 53.1% (17-of-32) from the floor, 50.0% (6-of-12) from three-point range, and 72.2% (13-of-18) from the free throw line. He added 2.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game during the two games. In a 94-76 win over fourth-ranked NYU on Friday, Mazzeo scored 27 points on a 10-of-17 shooting effort, including four-of-six from three-point range, while adding two rebounds and four assists. He followed that with a 26-point effort in a 77-76 win against Brandeis, shooting seven-of-15 overall, two-of-six from three-point range, and 10-of-14 from the free throw line while dishing out a career-best eight assists with two rebounds and a pair of steals. Mazzeo is second among all UAA players this season with 19.5 points per game, third in the league with 4.3 assists per contest, and fifth with a 52.4% field goal percentage. The Spartans improved to 13-1 overall and to 2-1 in UAA games with the two wins.
