Martinez earned a pair of pins and a major decision at the UAA vs. OAC Challenge on Saturday. Competing at 141 pounds, Martinez began the day with a win by fall in 1:55 over Mason McCarty of Mount Union to give the Spartans a 9-5 lead in the dual. In a loss to Ohio Northern, he defeated Gabe Hansen by fall in 2:29. During a 33-16 win over Heidelberg, Martinez secured a 16-5 major decision over Drew Miller. With his three wins, Martinez improved to 16-4 (.800) on the season with six pins and six technical falls and 50-16 (.758) for his career with 18 pins. He entered the weekend ranked fourth in the Central Region at 141 pounds by the NWCA.
