Martinez won the 133-pound bracket with a 4-0 record at the 38th Annual John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University at the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse in Berea, Ohio, on Saturday. He capped off his day with a 10-7 sudden victory over Jaden Hinton of BW, the third-ranked wrestler in Division III, to claim the bracket. Earlier in the day, Martinez defeated James Armstrong Jr. of Division II West Liberty by decision, and he added a major decision and technical fall in the first two rounds. Martinez won his third bracket this season and improved to 33-7 overall with the four wins on Saturday. The Spartans placed second out of 13 participating schools with 126.0 points.
