Trunley led the Spartans to an 89-67 win over 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University in the opening game of University Athletic Association play on Saturday afternoon inside Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland. Trunley led all scorers in the game with 28 points, making 11-of-21 shots overall, including four-of-nine from behind the three-point line, and two-of-three free throw attempts. He also matched his career-high with six assists while collecting seven rebounds and three steals. Trunley leads all CWRU players with 24.4 points per game on 48.2% shooting overall, 41.1% from behind the three-point line, and 90.1% from the free throw line with 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. The Spartans improved to 5-7 overall and 1-0 in the UAA following the win over the Tartans.
