CWRU Men’s Cross Country Qualifies for NCAAs; Lindemann Receives Individual Selection

The men's cross country team breaks a huddle with a cheer before the 2019 Sudeck Classic Stampede.

Case Western Reserve University will be well-represented at the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky next Saturday, as the 20th-ranked men's team received one of the 16 at-large bids to the meet, while senior Madeline Lindemann was selected as one of the 56 individuals to compete in the women's race.

The men helped strengthen their position with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday.  It will be the team's second-straight appearance as a team at the NCAA Championships, after placing 21st in 2018, and the team's 12th appearance in program history.

Lindemann will also be competing at the NCAA Championships for the second-straight season, following a 98th-place finish at last year's meet.  She finished seventh at yesterday's NCAA Regionals to earn her spot in the national field as an individual qualifier.

This is the 17th-straight year that the Spartans have had a representative at the NCAA Championship meet.

More information on the event and a full preview of the meet will be posted to athletics.case.edu later in the week.
