Lindemann Earns All-UAA Honors; CWRU Women’s XC Places Sixth at UAAs

Madeline Lindemann receives her UAA Second Team medal for the 2019 UAA Championships

Case Western Reserve University senior Madeline Lindemann earned an All-University Athletic Association Second Team honor for the second time in her career, helping lead the Spartans to a sixth-place finish at the 2019 University Athletic Association Championships

Lindemann finished 14th out of 76 runners in the women's 6K with a time of 22:36.76.  It was the second time in the last three years she has secured all-conference honors, after placing 11th overall in 2017.

Lindemann was followed by sophomore Jana Fisher in 29th place with a time of 23:02.73, while junior Kiera Olson crossed the line in 42nd place with a mark of 23:19.79.  Sophomore Susanna Henry was the fourth Spartan to cross the line, notching a 45th-place finish in a time of 23:28.50.  The next three CWRU runners each finished within 10 seconds of each other, as first-year Melissa Phung placed 48th in a time of 23:36.91, first-year Danielle Sarno finished 49th with a time of 23:40.11, and junior Grace Kemerer finished 50th with a time of 23:46.09.

Other CWRU runners to compete at the UAA Championships included senior Vanessa Pasadyn (57th, 24:06.95), first-year Rae Dwyer (58th, 24:10.07) and senior Mallorie Mitchem (65th, 24:42.10).

Washington University's Paige Lawler won the individual UAA Championship with a time of 21:49.76, and led a group of three teammates at the top of the results, as Washington claimed the conference title with a team score of 24 points.  They were followed by Chicago in second with 53 points, and Rochester in third with 100.

Case Western Reserve placed sixth in the team standings with a score of 160, finishing behind fourth-place Carnegie Mellon (132) and fifth-place Emory (140) and behind Brandeis (161) and NYU (174).

The Spartans will have next weekend off from competition before traveling to Grand Rapids, Michigan for the 2019 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday, November 16th.
