CWRU Women Finish Second at Allegheny XC Classic

Case Western Reserve University junior Madeline Lindemann led the Spartans to a second-place finish in the team standings at the Allegheny Cross Country Classic, placing second individually among 126 total competitors on Saturday morning in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Lindemann was the Spartans' top finisher for the second-straight meet, crossing the finish line of the three-mile race with a time of 18:26.  Joining Lindemann in the top-10 finishers at the race were sophomore Kiera Olson, who placed eighth with a time of 18:55, and senior Isa Torres-Padin, who finished 10th with a time of 19:21.  Senior Jennifer Hoffmann was fourth among all Spartan finishers and 16th overall with a mark of 19:21, followed closely by senior Ellen Sears, who claimed an 18th-place finish with a mark of 19:30.  Rounding out the team's top-seven finishers were junior Vanessa Pasadyn in 19th-place, crossing the line in a time of 19:34, and freshman Julia Kocherzat, who notched a 21st-place finish after completing the course in a time of 19:41.

CWRU finished the meet with a score of 54 points, finishing close behind Carnegie Mellon, which won the meet with a score of 52.  Allegheny rounded out the top-three teams with a score of 70.

Individually, Allegheny's Emily Forner won the women's race with a time of 17:27.

The Spartans will be off next weekend, as the team gears up for the 2018 All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, September 29, hosted by the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
